Hytale Officially Canceled

For the Indonesian version, check here.

Hytale, the game widely considered a strong contender to rival Minecraft, has been officially canceled. This news comes directly from Hypixel Studios, the developer behind the ambitious project, who announced the cessation of development and the process of winding down the studio over the next few months. The announcement was made by Noxy, co-founder of Hypixel Studios, in a statement titled "A Difficult Update About Hytale."

A Journey Full of Challenges

This game has developed since 2018. Since its initial announcement on December 2018, Hytale garnered widespread attention from the gaming community, especially fans of sandbox games and voxel graphics. With stunning visuals, promises of a deep story mode, powerful modding tools, and innovative multiplayer features, Hytale set incredibly high expectations. Many saw it as an evolution of the genre popularized by Minecraft.

However, game development is no easy feat, especially for a project as ambitious as Hytale, which aimed to deliver something original and live up to the hopes of such a passionate community. In his statement, Noxy explained that over the years, their vision continued to evolve, and the standards within the genre also kept rising. Technical ambitions became more complex, and even after a major reboot of the game engine, the team still felt that Hytale hadn't reached the desired level.

Ambition Versus Reality

"The ambition was too great" perhaps encapsulates the core of this difficult decision. Hypixel Studios realized they would need much more time to bring Hytale to a point where the game could support their ambitious vision. Options to reduce scope, adjust timelines, or find new approaches would have meant compromising on what made Hytale special in the first place. They didn't want to release a game that "wouldn't have been the game we set out to make" or "wouldn't have been the game you deserve."

I'm still waiting for Hytale game to be released, tell me when it's released. It's almost 7 years. #Hytale #Minecraft #Hypixel

This was a painful decision for the team, who had poured so much love and effort into the project. They remain incredibly proud of the world they imagined, the risks they took, and the heart they poured into the game.

Support and Impact

The silver lining amidst this news is that the Hypixel server on Minecraft will continue to operate as usual. This server is run separately from Hypixel Studios, so players have no need to worry.

Noxy also expressed deep gratitude to Riot Games, who had provided years of support, not just financially but also in assisting the team during this transition. Riot Games even helped Hypixel Studios explore if there were other investors or acquirers who could continue to carry the Hytale project forward. Now, as the studio winds down, Riot is ensuring team members are supported with generous severance and resources to help them find what's next.

RIP Hytale :( #Hytale #Hypixel #Minecraft

For the Hyale Community

Last but not least, Hypixel Studios extended a heartfelt thank you to the Hytale community. The belief, energy, creativity, and support from fans kept them going through thick and thin. Even though they won't be the ones to bring this game into the world, the spirit of Hytale and everything they hoped it could be will stay with them.

The cancellation of Hytale is a stark reminder of how challenging game development can be, especially when ambitions are sky-high and community expectations are immense. This marks the end of a chapter, but the lessons and inspiration from Hytale will undoubtedly be carried forward by its developers into future projects.

How Long the Duration of 100 Days in Minecraft Compared to Real Life

Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20240517211505/https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/

Minecraft is a highly popular sandbox video game developed by Mojang Studios. In this game, players can explore a nearly infinite world and build various structures using blocks. One interesting aspect of Minecraft is its in-game time cycle, which differs significantly from real-world time.

Time Duration in Minecraft

In Minecraft, a full day consists of daytime and nighttime and lasts 20 minutes of real-world time. Here is the breakdown of a single day in Minecraft:

  • Daytime: 10 minutes
  • Dusk: 1.5 minutes
  • Nighttime: 7 minutes
  • Dawn: 1.5 minutes

Therefore, one 24-hour cycle in Minecraft is completed in 20 minutes of real-world time.

Calculating 100 Days in Minecraft

To determine how long 100 days in Minecraft would be compared to real life, we can perform a simple calculation:

  1. One day in Minecraft = 20 real-world minutes
  2. 100 days in Minecraft = 100 x 20 minutes = 2000 real-world minutes

Next, convert 2000 minutes into hours and days:

  • 2000 minute / 60 minute per hour = 33.33 jam
  • 33.33 hours / 24 hours per day = approximately 1.39 days

So, 100 days in Minecraft is equivalent to about 33.33 hours or roughly 1.39 real-world days.

Conclusion

The calculation above shows that 100 days in Minecraft lasts approximately 33.33 hours in real life, or around 1.39 days. With a fast-paced time cycle, Minecraft players experience day and night transitions more frequently compared to real life. This allows players to plan their in-game activities efficiently and experience various game phases in a shorter period.

Minecraft April Fool's Update Version is Better than the Main Update

Every year, the developers at Mojang Studios, which is now part of Microsoft, release an update for Minecraft. This is an important part to keep this game alive and keeps the game fresh and exciting for players. These annual updates usually bring new content additions, bug fixes, performance improvements, and often features that the community has requested.

Some Minecraft Community's Perspective

Some people in the Minecraft community have a different opinion on annual updates. Some people think that even the regular updates offers a in-game content additions, but they don't always meet players expectations. As a result, some people feel that the annual updates don't have a big of an impact on the overall gaming experience.

For example, in the case of the April Fools update, many people felt that the features and experiences contained within it had more variety of content than the regular Minecraft updates. This raises the question of whether focusing on regular development every year is the best approach to satisfy the community's expectations. (Note: April Fools is a time limited update that be will not released to the Minecraft main update).

So, why did Mojang do this?

This is happening because Mojang is creating crazy features that may break the mechanics of the game itself or be incompatible with the existing Minecraft features. Which is why these April Fool features weren't added to the main update because they didn't fit the overall vibe of Minecraft itself. In addition, these features were created in a very quick and short period of time, which was not improved enough for the release into the main version. Mojang can't just add any content to Minecraft. That's why these features were not added into the major version of Minecraft.

Perhaps this is why Mojang didn't add an April Fools feature to Minecraft, causing the annual update to seem uninteresting. On the other side of this issue, there is a more specific reason why Mojang didn't add the April Fools feature (or something similar) to Minecraft. (The point is that I still think Mojang is lazy).

My Own Solution for Mojang

To improve the Minecraft experience and meet the expectation of the community, a solution that can be considered is to add more interactive and engaging features to Minecraft. An example would be to adopt the features of a popular and legendary mod that has been created by the Minecraft community, for example, Twilight Forest, Aether Dimension, or Physics Mod or something else. The implementation of these features into the official version can provide a significant variation in players' experience of exploration, adventure, and creativity. In addition, by keeping in mind to add all the mobs that lose in the annual mob vote, the developers can provide players with the opportunity to enjoy brand new mobs that the community has been wanting for a long time.

With these tricks, Minecraft may be able to continue to grow and keep attracting its old players while also expanding its attractiveness to new players, making the gaming experience more satisfying and challenging for all players. Especially since there's a Minecraft employee who was formerly the creator of the Aether Dimension Mod, the internet user with the username kingbdogz.

Minecraft Video That Created Using Generaitve AI

Recently, the whole world was surprised by an AI that can make videos more realistic. This AI is able to produce videos that are almost indistinguishable from human-made videos. This certainly raises a lot of questions and comments. How is it possible for AI to make such realistic videos? Hasn't AI so far only been able to create images?

Source: X/drcintas

AI capabilities certainly have a lot of potential. AI can be used to create more realistic movies and video game clips, as well as to create more interesting educational videos. AI can also be used to create videos that help people with disabilities to communicate and interact with the world around them.

For example, the recent viral Minecraft video clip on X shows how AI can be used to create highly realistic videos. The video was created using Sora AI, an AI specifically designed to make video games more realistic.

In this video, the AI can be shown doing things that Minecraft players would normally do, such as mining, building, and adventuring. It can even complete challenges in Minecraft easily.

However, the development of AI has also caused some worries. Some people are worried that AI could be used to create fake videos that could be used to spread misinformation. Also, some people are worried that AI could be used to create videos that could be used to manipulate others.

Despite these worries, it is clear that AI has great potential to change the way we view and create videos. AI can help us to create videos that are more realistic, engaging and educational. However, it is important to use AI in the right way and to ensure that it is not used to spread misinformation or to manipulate others.

Based on True Story! Here's a Unique Fact About Painting in Minecraft

Painting is one of the various decoration objects that are among all the objects of choice to decorate a house in Minecraft. Even painting itself can be used as an object for players with high creativity, whether it is used as a TV, or it can also be used as a secret room.

But did you know that there is a mystery to painting in Minecraft that is actually taken from the real world. And the original artist influenced the appearance of the painting in Minecraft.

In the following, I will explain the history and the inventor or creator of this Minecraft painting as well as a comparison of the Minecraft painting with the real world version.

Creator of Painting in Minecraft

Almost all of painting in Minecraft was originally made by Kristoffer Zetterstrand. He is the brother of Elin Zetterstrand who is the wife of Notch.

Kristoffer Zetterstrand, is a Swedish artist, who is responsible for creating most of the paintings in Minecraft in the early period. Although not all of the paintings in Minecraft were created by him, most of the current Minecraft paintings are his original work. This is written in the official article of the Minecraft website entitled Taking Inventory: Painting written by Duncan Geere which was published on January 18, 2019.

It states that "Almost all of the paintings were created by Kristoffer Zetterstrand, a wonderful Swedish artist who often integrates videogame-inspired elements into his surrealist works. Minecraft’s paintings are based on real-life paintings by Zetterstrand, who also did the work of turning them into pixel versions."

As of March 2024, Minecraft Java and Bedrock have a total of 26 patterns, of sizes 1×1, 2×1, 2×2, 4×2, 4×3, and 4×4. And it's possible that the number of paintings will increase in the future.

Zetterstrand was also got interviewed about his contributions to a podcast conducted by The Boston Art Podcast, which can be found on their official Spotify account.
